You might be forgiven for thinking "hey, I don't remember there being a gear change in this song!" That's because this clip is taken from the original full-length version of the song, rather than the single which you're probably familiar with. The long version contains an extra verse – plus this blatant truck-driving monstrosity. The single has the good grace to fade out while holding the repeated "Play that funky music" line in G; but for feature-length extravagance it was clearly deemed necessary to shout "Wanna take you higher now!" and then ram everything up to A. For me, this actually enlivened a tune which, while undeniably great, has perhaps begun to sound a little tired after all these years.
