I'm not really a great admirer of the work of the Gallagher brothers, but admittedly they do often manage to put together, Frankenstein-style, a catchy melody. I think what's particularly enjoyable about "All Around The World" is the lowering guitar-and-strings combination which introduces each chorus. Apart from that, though, I find this song rather insipid, and it's not long before they arrive at a turgid, messy impasse. They get out of it with a blood-letting gear change which is deeply painful, but which at least has the benefit of clearing the air musically. Yet still their journey continues, as they suddenly fall back down, the confusion returns, and finally they fight their way up and out in the direction of the nearest sunset. By the end, I can't help mopping my brow with relief.

If you listen carefully just before the first gear change, it sounds suspiciously like Oasis have employed the services of the Tastee Brothers. Booya!
