I've got to admit, Nigel Olsson was not a familiar name to me so you might also benefit from the news that he is best known as Elton John's drummer. On the other hand, if you are a follower of Elton John in any form, you'll know that Olsson has been with him on and off through thick and thin, including the "Billy Elliot" soundtrack, which is definitely thin.
In rock lore, drummers are not noted for their sense of harmony or melody, and I'll leave you to insert your own drummer joke here. The song was actually written and first recorded by Carl Storie and the Faith Band, although Olsson's version turned out to be a bigger hit. Unfortunately, I've been unable to track down the Carl Storie version so I'm not sure who to blame for this shockingly abrupt change of key. I mean, come on, they could at least have made some sort of effort to soften the blow... Then again, I'm sure Olsson was keen for nothing to obscure his gingerly performed pre-change drum fill...
