This song is cleverly written (hey, it won a Grammy), such that it sounds like each chorus is cranking the song up a key, but actually the song remains constant... Until this particular moment, which is the musical equivalent of that thing where you're walking down the street, then you stumble, and in order to stop yourself actually falling and hitting the ground, you have to keep running asymptotically forwards; and then you hit the pavement anyway.
