A number of visitors have suggested that virtually all of Chicago's Peter Cetera ballads (which were so popular commercially, but apparently caused much frustration among the other band members) contain vicious modulations, and this is certainly a case in point. There are actually quite a few queasy key changes throughout the song (at the start of this clip, for example) but when it gets back to the chorus it's an AOR gear change par excellence. You can detect just the slightest slowing in tempo and picture the drummer (Dan Seraphine, I believe) closing his eyes (with bliss? with pain? with shame?) as he has to quietly go dug-a-dug-a-dug-a-dug-a in the background.

The URL of Chicago's official site, www.chicagotheband.com, screams "we didn't get round to banking a domain name quickly enough". It's a pretty comprehensive site though, with discography, photos, and a curious page called "Make It A Hit" where they seem to be begging people to pester radio stations by phone, fax or
