This won the 1981 Eurovision Song Contest for the United Kingdom, though it is often claimed that the votes were gained not for the song itself but for the "oooh racy" dance routine, in which Bobby G and Mike Nolan whipped the skirts off Cheryl Baker and Jay Aston to reveal shorter skirts beneath. (I suspect this accompanied the line "If you wanna see some more", though I'm not certain.) In any event, the song features two utterly rancid gear changes, which they dive into without pausing to test the water first. Maybe that's because they're too busy hurrying away from the rather dubious line "Don't let your indecision take you from behind".

Bucks Fizz are still going to this day, and they have an official web site. However, the concept of "still going" is a pretty flimsy one, since the torch is kept burning only by Bobby G, along with his wife Heidi and two others who weren't in the original group. In fact, one of the most entertaining British TV programmes of the last few years was an episode of the BBC's Trouble At The Top series, which examined the bitter dispute between Bobby G and David Van Day (formerly of Dollar), who joined the band for a short time and subsequently attempted to hijack the Bucks Fizz "trademark" by launching a rival band also called Bucks Fizz with none of the original members. One especially memorable moment was the revelation that during a court hearing, the judge managed to insult both parties by telling them that "there's not much fizz left in the Bucks Fizz trademark". I think the final upshot was that there are now two bands: Bobby G's is called Bucks Fizz, while the other one is called "David Van Day's Bucks Fizz Show". You don't know whether to laugh or cry.
