Yes: a bird, not The Byrds. This must count as the most bizarre truck driver's gear change submitted to the site, and of course is a rather tenuous inclusion. But its entertainment value is so high that I couldn't possibly leave it out.
This curio appears on a cassette of Japanese birdsong belonging to if you will "eagle-eared" submitter Xanadudldu. The tape has been in Xanadudldu's possession for over a decade now, and unfortunately a translation of the liner notes has gone astray, so we can't be sure what species this is, though it sounds like it's closely related to both Stevie Wonder and Westlife. And I guess the date of recording would be irrelevant, since technically I should provide the year in which this amusing creature was first known to exist probably "the year dot".
In any case, I salute this feathery genius for spicing up its otherwise monotonous bursts of F with a massive gear change up to F# for a short while, before retreating back to the safety of the original key with a little flourish. Who says animals don't have the capacity for reason?
